Seeking to formalize their presence and unify their offerings with a new name, Dartmouth Common Oven, we rebranded the volunteer organization to be rooted in community and visually align their oven & gardens.
The Dartmouth Common Oven is a volunteer-run, wood-fired community oven and garden, located in Leighton Dillman Park on the Dartmouth Common. A main theme we wanted to keep at the forefront of the re-brand was a sense of the collective community, that this space was a common resource to be shared by everyone in the neighbourhood.
The logo combines welcoming typography with an organic, illustrative landscape. It visualizes both the oven and the gardens by featuring a wood-fired oven, abstract plants and the iconic fence bordering the park. The primary logo and graphic is contained within a semicircle oven shape, with the text arching over the illustration as subtle nod to the bricks along the entry opening to the oven.
